By providing an alternative to the use of energy from wood, the project preserves the forest cover and thus contributes to the completion of SDG 13 relating to Climate Change in its target No. 1 "Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries." It also contributes to the completion of strategic objective No 1 of the National Development Plan in its strategic orientation No 3, axes 9 and 11, which respectively talk of "Preserving and restoring terrestrial ecosystems, combating desertification." and "Promote resilient development in the face of the adverse effects of climate change." Thus, we join the efforts of the government expressed in particular through programs in favor of the climate like the program “EWE BURUNDI URAMBAYE” and we contribute to achieve the commitments of Burundi for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions within the framework of the Paris Agreement, ie 1,958 Gg ECO2 for the unconditional objective and 14,897 Gg ECO2 for the conditional objective.
